Here Are some Ways You Can Make Your Long-distance Relationship Fun

By NCR DELHI TEAM September 21, 2022

If you have found the love of your life, you would want to cross oceans for them. You would want to do anything to make your relationship with them work – even if you are miles apart.

You really like your significant other and there is literally nothing you don’t want to share with them, but the problem is you can’t do that physically.  Or let’s say you literally did all the fun things with each other but one of you needs to shift to a different city or even a different country because you’ve finally gotten hold of your dream job.

Or, maybe you hit it off really well with someone who happens to live in a different part of the country.

But why does all of this have to matter if you both are totally into each other, right? Sure, long-distance relationships sound scary but they can totally work if you and your partner are ready to put in a little extra effort.

1. Be Open About The Need To Communicate

When you first start with your long-distance situation, things can get confusing. So, it is better if you and your partner know what kind of communication and how much communication work for both of you. Let’s say if one of you is more of a texting person and the other is a talk-on-the-phone kind of person, you can find a middle ground. Find a compromise as to how much you both would like to talk to each other. If a boundary is already in place, it won’t be frustrating for the other person.

2. Maintain An Independent Lifestyle

Having a partner is absolutely awesome. You have a permanent person to hang out with, try new restaurants and even watch a new movie. But that is obviously not possible in a long-distance relationship. But that’s even better. You get to explore new things without depending on someone. Or you can do all of these things with your friends. Being in a relationship is great but one always needs to remember that you’re your own person and taking time out for yourself is important.

3. Keep Experimenting With Different Modes Of Communication

It might get boring for some people to constantly talk via text. But here’s the great part about being born in this era of technology, there are several funky apps that can make your communication fun. Once in a while send some snaps or one can even try Facebook messenger. Surprises keep things fresh.

4. Always Keep Intimacy Alive

Intimacy is the most integral part of a relationship. Unfortunately, physical touch isn’t possible with long distances. But there are several different things you can do to keep that intimacy alive. You can send flirty texts or sext your partner. You can send each other some erotic pictures of yourselves. You can even get started with some self-pleasurable times on video calls and phone calls. However, not everyone is comfortable with sending pictures, so do respect your partner’s limitations.

5. Try To Spend As Much Time As Possible With Each Other

Work and monetary commitments may make it difficult for you both to spend time with each other. Skimming through the calendar is a must. Check out all of those long holidays and all special occasions beforehand and buy flight tickets beforehand. You both can even make it adventurous by meeting up halfway.

6. Schedule Virtual Hobbies You Both Can Enjoy Together

Hobbies are relaxing and a great way to unwind your day. You and your partner can both decide what new hobby you would like to take and set up a time every day to do it together. Thanks to video calls, it is pretty efficient too. From knitting to baking, decide what you both would be doing every day and show your masterpieces to each other.
